Sacred Practice
From first contact through lifelong fellowship, our ministry walks with every congregant on a deeply personal journey toward healing and spiritual wholeness.
The Sacramental Path
Every journey with the Church of Mycelium follows a sacred four-phase process designed to maximize spiritual safety, depth of healing, and lasting transformation.
We begin with a thorough and compassionate spiritual intake process. Each potential congregant meets with our ministers to share their story, explore their intentions, and determine whether our sacramental practice is aligned with their spiritual needs. This phase typically spans 2–4 weeks and includes written reflection, one-on-one spiritual direction, and community orientation. We believe preparation is as sacred as the ceremony itself.
Congregants approved for ceremony enter a dedicated preparation period of 2–3 weeks. This includes guided journaling, dietary and lifestyle recommendations, prayer practices, and intention-setting sessions with their assigned minister. We prepare the body as a vessel for sacred experience, and the mind as a space for openness and receptivity.
The ceremony itself is held in a consecrated, peaceful setting — carefully prepared with sacred objects, music, and prayer. A small group of congregants (no more than six) gathers with two ordained ministers. The sacrament is administered with prayer and blessing, and ministers remain present throughout, offering gentle guidance, music, and spiritual presence as needed. Sessions last 6–8 hours.
The weeks following ceremony are often the most important. Our integration ministry includes multiple one-on-one sessions with your minister, access to peer support groups, and ongoing spiritual community. We believe the insights of the ceremony must be carefully tended and woven into daily life — a process we walk alongside every congregant for as long as they need.
Who We Serve
Our doors are open to all who seek healing. We have particular experience and calling to serve those who have borne the weight of service to others.
Combat veterans living with PTSD, moral injury, survivor's guilt, and the invisible wounds of military service are at the heart of our calling.
Firefighters, law enforcement, EMTs, and paramedics who carry the cumulative weight of witnessing suffering and loss find refuge and renewal in our ministry.
Those living with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders, and the spiritual despair that often underlies these conditions are welcomed into our community.
Anyone navigating profound questions of meaning, identity, mortality, or spiritual disconnection will find a compassionate community in our church.
